1967 Mercedes Benz 250SL Convertible

Rare Black 1967 Mercedes 250SL series W 113 Pagoda roadster with a two-tone Palomino interior, automatic transmission, rare factory air conditioning, a matching light tan German canvas soft top and matching black hubcaps!
The 250SL was basically a one-year model introduced at the Geneva Motor Show in 1967 and produced between December 1966-January 1968 with many of the North American models sold and titled as 1968 model years. The main change from the previous 230SL was the use of a peppier 2,496 cc engine with seven main bearings in place of the 2,306 cc engine with four main bearings of the 230SL. 
The car was improved with significantly improved torque, up from 145 lb ft to 159 lb ft and braking and stopping power was markedly improved with the addition of rear disc brakes. The 250SL retained the stiffer and sportier suspension of the early SL"s but provided significantly improved performance with the engine"s wider power band. Of only 5,196 250SL"s built in Germany; 3,808 cars were exported with only 1,791 making it to the US market and this is one of those very rare exports and titled as a 1967 model.
I purchased the car in 2004 with all original owner"s manuals and booklets available and obviously always garaged with no signs of any accidents and absolutely no rust whatsoever. The car has only very minor imperfections noticeable only upon very close inspection; for example there is a very light scratch on the passenger side fender beside the headlamp . The interior is mostly original apart from an after market CD player.
This car must be seen and driven to be fully appreciated - the engine is extremely strong and responsive with excellent oil pressure and no oil leaks and which sounds absolutely magnificent, the transmission shifts smoothly through the gears and the engine temperature always remains cool.
